About InteriorLab

Interior design has always had a gap between imagining a change and seeing it. InteriorLab closes that gap in about ten seconds, using a photo you take on the phone already in your hand.

Most people redecorating a room are not short on inspiration. They are short on certainty. Endless saved images of other people's homes do not answer the only question that matters: what would this look like in my room, with my ceiling height, my awkward corner, and the light I actually get in the afternoon?

InteriorLab was built to answer that question directly. Point your camera at a room, choose a direction, and the AI returns a realistic redesign of that exact space in seconds — not a lookalike, not a template, but your room with different choices made. From there you can keep going: refine one object at a time, try a different style, rearrange what you already own, or price the whole thing out.

It is designed for the person doing this themselves. Renters who cannot knock down walls, first-time buyers staring at an empty living room, anyone who has been quoted more for a design consultation than for the furniture. It is also genuinely useful for landlords and agents staging a property, where seeing a space furnished is the difference between a viewing and a scroll.

How it works

Start from your actual room

Every redesign begins with a photo of a space you already have — not a generic template or a stock render. The AI reads the room's geometry, light, and existing furniture so what comes back is recognisably your room, with your proportions and your windows where they actually are.

Or scan it in 3D

On an iPhone or iPad with a LiDAR sensor, InteriorLab captures a measured 3D model of the room rather than a flat image. That unlocks true-to-scale layouts, floor plans, and walking through a redesign before anything is bought or moved.

Change one thing or everything

Apply any of our 19 design styles to the whole room, or work object by object — swap a sofa, recolour a wall, erase a piece that is in the way, or rearrange the furniture you already own into a layout that works better.

Then make it real

A render that cannot be bought is just a mood board. Where pieces match real products you can shop the room directly, check a piece at true scale in AR before committing, and plan the whole thing against a budget.

What we cover

InteriorLab supports 19 interior design styles — from Scandinavian and Japandi through Mid-Century Modern, Industrial, Art Deco and Maximalist — across 12 room types, including the ones most tools ignore: nurseries, hallways, patios, studio apartments and open-plan spaces that have to do three jobs at once.

Each style and room has its own guide on this site, written to be useful whether or not you ever download the app. They cover where a style came from, the palettes and materials that define it, the pieces that carry it, and the specific problems each type of room tends to present.

Who builds it

InteriorLab is built and operated by Ubani LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom. We are a small independent team — we build the app, write everything on this site, and answer the support email ourselves.

The app is free to download on iOS and Android. Questions, bugs, feature requests and press enquiries all go to hello@interiorlab.ai — or via our contact page.
